IRVINE, CA, May 31, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mobix Labs Inc. Ltd., a global provider of connectivity solutions for mmWave 5G wireless cabling and high-bandwidth wired networking, has added longtime CEO Jim Aralis as Chief Technology Officer.

Aralis held the same position for more than a decade at Microsemi Corp. , in addition to serving as Senior Vice President of Advanced Development, until the acquisition of the Aliso Viejo-based chip maker in 2018 for $10.3 billion.

After the sale of Microsemi, Aralis was a consultant, advisor, and board member of several technology companies and charitable organizations.

“Jim brings a wealth of knowledge, innovation and global connections to Mobix Labs at a critical juncture for our company,” said Fabian Battaglia, CEO of Mobix Labs. “His experience and skills are well suited, as the company integrates strategic acquisitions, develops next-generation products and embarks on a new funding round. With Aralis on board, Dr. Alex Gorbachev will move into the role of Senior Fellow in RF Systems and Engineering, and will continue to innovate and develop cutting-edge, cutting-edge intellectual property for RF at Mobix Labs”.

Aralis, a holder of several patents, has been developing analog, digital, mixed-signal integrated circuits and related firmware/software for more than 40 years. He also contributed to the development of CAD systems, custom analog devices, and processing technologies.

Arrales, who has also worked in leadership positions at several integrated circuit manufacturers, including Hughes Aircraft, Silicon Systems, Texas Instruments and Maxim Integrated, said he founded and built their design center in Irvine.

Working alongside Jim Peterson, former CEO and Chairman of Microsemi Corporation, and now CEO of Mobix Labs, Aralis has been instrumental in identifying and acquiring 23 strategic acquisitions during his tenure — including a $2.5 billion deal for the company PMC-Sierra Inc. – Resulting in diversification effort from legacy applications to cutting edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Arales holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, applied sciences, and physics, and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. The scientist and electrical engineer lives in Aliso Viejo with his wife, a loyal chocolate lab and a lively Labradoodle.
